G/L Accounting Issue

Hi there,

We are currently investigating the balance we have on G/L account 93490.  This account is used when invoice matching.  The G/L entries which are posted to this account when processing an invoice are…

Debit – GRNI (93400/93410)

Credit – Direct cost control (93490)

Debit – Direct cost control (93490)

Debit – VAT Input Tax (93125)

Credit – Creditors (93000/93030)

The debit and credit postings should offset and the balance on account 93490 should be nil.  The current balance is 115,672.03 €.

It appear to have a problem when processing invoices which contain purchase orders with multiple currencies e.g. document PINV0001.  This invoice was processed with the currency code set as Euros.  The purchase orders allocated to this document were a mix of titles booked in in Euros and also with the currency code ‘blank’…

Total purchase orders in Euros = 280.40

Total purchase orders with ‘Blank’ currency = 4,169.43

 The G/L postings for document PINV0001 were…

 25001   Waste – Price Difference                      -5.19

92080   Stock – Inventory News                        280.40

92090   Stock – Inventory Accrual News            -280.40

93030   Purchase Ledger – General                   -5,315.79

93125   VAT Input Tax – Unrealised                   871.15

93400   GRNI – Inventory Interim News               280.40

93490   Direct Cost/Purchases Control             4,169.43

We have been left with a debit balance of 4,169.43 on 93490 (missing postings for purchase orders booked in with the currency‘blank’).  We are also missing the following postings

93400   GRNI – Inventory Interim News           4,169.43

92080   Stock – Inventory News                        4,169.43

92090   Stock – Inventory Accrual News         -4,169.43

This happened in country specific database e.g. France although UK also have the same process and set of objects.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Client : NAV 2009, R2 on SQL 2008.

Thanks,

Regards,

Rob
