Position Summary
The Functional Consultant has expertise in Trade & Logistics/SCM and is a key team member involved in the functional design, implementation and ongoing enhancement of ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Dynamics AX. As a Functional Consultant, you will meet with the client to understand their business & technical challenges then develop and execute a plan to solve their problems. Throughout you will ensure that the plan supports the client’s goals and expectations, and be willing to make adjustments to exceed these expectations. Everything you do is geared toward achieving bottom-line results for our clients. Along the way, you also learn to refine your interpersonal and people management skills. This helps you to properly identify client needs, build deeper client relationships and gain consensus—all of which make you a better leader.
Essential Responsibilities of Position
· Facilitate discussions with client and project teams. Understand and communicate client needs, project team’s goals, and individual role in building custom and packaged client solutions.
· Work closely with clients and other team members to define, design and align the business application to the business requirements.
· Manage and deliver small projects independently. Lead other consultants in delivering according to client expectations; take ownership of successful completion of deliverables and projects.
· Participate in the development of functional and technical specifications, unit and system test scripts, and deployment plans.
· Facilitate functional sessions and weekly status meetings with clients, including the ability to drive a client to decisions.
· Own project deliverables (status reports, documentation, test plans.) Take personal ownership of the success of deliverables and projects.
· Communicate internally and externally by providing weekly status reports, issues lists, etc.
· Setup and configure Dynamics AX modules based upon concentration.
· Participate with other implementation team members to ensure the overall accuracy and consistency of accounting transactions throughout the system.
· Train clients on new processes and Dynamics AX Trade & Logistics/SCM.
Required Minimum Qualifications
· Degree educated
· Significant experience in the Supply Chain field
· Microsoft Dynamics AX Certified – T&L/SCM
· Must have strong communication skills
· Strong technical aptitude necessary
