Hi, I have 2 cases here where I do not know why the system does not give me results that I expected: Case1: Coverage group =RM; coverage code = period; coverage period = 1 I have item ABC which is a purchase item. When looking requirements screen, there is 1 Purchase Order where there is 2 actions for the same Requirement date and To date. These actions both peg to different demand, but the question is…because we have selected a Period of 1 day, should this not create 1 action for quantity 2, vs. 2 actions for quantity 1? it seems like the system is acting like the Coverage Group is set to Requirement, not Period of 1 Day. . Case 2: Coverage group = RM; coverage code =period; coverage period=1 I have another item with the same coverage code. When looking requirements screen, we have 3 planned orders for the same date and same warehouse. My question is should this not be 1 planned order for a quantity of 16 vs. 3 planned orders for varying quantities? it seems like the system is treating the Coverage Group of Requirement as Period of 1 Day. So if someone can explain to me how the coverage group work? Thanks

Advanced lookup in NAV 2009 RTC
One thing I know disturbs both me and most of my users is the little "drop down" box that is shown when using F4 for Lookup in RTC. When we talk about simple data tables like posting groups or payment terms etc. with just a hand full of records then it's fine, but when we talk about lookups into customers or items etc. then it mostly just slows down the process of finding the record, because the users almost always have to use the Advanced features.
So of course I have the option of programming an alternative lookup directly into the right page, but isn't there a way to do it without programming and just changing a simple property or so?
And related to this, then it would be even cooler if it was possible for the user to use one of his saved views, so that in the case of looking up items the list could have some preset filters like not showing blocked items and only show raw materials when making the lookup from a production order.

Is there a way where I can add a header/footer template to each customer facing report (e.g. Sales Order) so I dont have to create the 'letterhead' every time I make a report?

Dear Experts,
I need help in resolving the mentioned error and access the application successfully.
Installed AX2012 R2 and downloaded both the database and database_model bak files and restored them. When I try starting the service it's not starting. Event viewer shows the below error message.

Am setting up India Sales Tax in Ax 2012 R2. and I am getting error as Ledger accounts not defined for registration number '12345678901'.Posting has been canceled. When am trying to confirm purchase order.
I have created sales tax codes, sales tax groups, item sales tax groups, ledger posting groups and under tax ledger posting group i also attached the ledger accounts for the above VAT registration number. but i don't know why that error is still poping. please suggest me what needs to be done.

I have created two number sequences e.g.1) 57F4 A and 2) 57F4 B in a particular form used check box.
whenever i click first check box (i.e.57F4A) then automatic generate this number sequence and second(i.e.57F4B) same also ...how to code write first and second check box then find number sequence?

Clocking In Out Terminal
Hi All
I am trying to configure a Job Registration terminal to be used as a Clocking In and Out terminal.
The process needs to be as quick as possible as we dont want queues forming.
It will not be used for job registration etc - purely clocking in and out.
I can make a clocking in terminal easily, but it displays a popup box which has to be Ok'd (or disappears after 10 seconds).
First question - is there any way to get this popup box to disappear after e.g.1-2 seconds instead?
Second question - If a user clocks in it informs them that they are clocked in. If they clock in it says the same message - It should inform them on the second time that they are already clocked in.
For the clock out it need to be as quick as possible, but ideally warn them or not allow them to clock out unless they have reported a qty on the job they were on.
Has anyone done anything similar?

I have a query related to TAX in AX 2009, my client is based in Japan and the VAT there is changing from 5% to 8% on the 1st April.
I know that in the values tab under the Sales tax codes I can define the From date and To date for the Sales tax code but I need to know the impact of suddenly changing the Tax value for all open transactions.
Transactions created before 1st April, and posted after that.
Please help.

Purchase Header lock after workflow approves

I am using workflow for purchase order approve. After approval completion process purchase lines allow edit is false. Now I want to apply same thing for purchase header. After approval completion process whole pruchase order should not be allowed for edit OR atleast right now I want lock purchase header for allow edit.

The bin contents quantity of 95 is correct; could I get instructions on how to adjust the item card for the missing 23 without affecting the warehousing module?

Changing Tracking dimension group
Hi,
What are the impacts to change Item tracking dimension from items that are heavily used ( sales, Production, Purchase) ?
Originally the setup was done on PRODUCTS with Tracking dimension setup as serialOne and now we want to go with RELEASED PRODUCT and set up a new tracking dimension with ont to many as relationships into serial numbers. It works well but before implementing this, i would like to know if there is no more conséquences.Espeacially they are some open orders where we can change the tracking dimension. But what about the past? Thanks

Lock reservation in picking list registration
Hello,
Im runing this problem in AX 2012.
When i do picking list registration, just when i entered batch number for item, the system is automatically reserve the item and lock reservation to all dimension on item so i cant edit the batch number that i entered before. batch number in tracking dimension is not primary stocking but warehouse in storage dimension is primary stocking.
when i open inventory --> reservation, all dimension is checked in lock reservation
what i need is lock reservation is only for site and warehouse not for batch number, so i can edit the batch number on the picking list registration form before update is performed
any help would be very appreciated.

Nav is not running when installed
Hi there,
We install NAV to new employees. In one particular instance, we couldn't make NAV work. We tried to check everything, and all files, etc seems to be the same as all the other files from the computers of employees where NAV works.Whenever we launch NAV, we get this error message:
"You do not have permission to run the 'MBS' menusuite. Contact the system manager if you need to have permission changed."
We don't know where to make the changes to make NAV work. Any help or ideas, please let us know and willing to try.
